Real Estate Classes – “Classroom –vs- Online”
Occasionally someone contacts me saying, “I’m looking for a classroom class; I don’t want an online class. I need hands-on assistance and I like to hear comments from other people.” There is a reason why I always suggest that all prelicense courses be taken online; even if they decide to purchase the course from someone else. It’s just that important to me.
The mind-boggling thing to me is if someone can’t learn by using a computer, how can they earn a living using a computer? You see, 95% of all activities performed by
real estate agents are done on a computer. Matter of fact, in today’s real estate world, an agent must be fairly computer savvy if they want to be successful.
However, the main reason I strongly encourage online prelicense courses is because online students make 20-25% higher state exam scores than students taking classroom courses. This is very important to me. I don’t like it when one of my students fails an exam. It cost them $71 every time they have to take the exam, and I don’t want to see people spend money they don’t have to spend. Making money in real estate isn’t that difficult; but hanging on to it can be a challenge.
Think about this for a moment. In a classroom setting there is only so much time allotted to complete a class; Right? In most classes there’s always someone who wants to talk about things that aren’t related to the subject being discussed. This is distracting to other students. As little as we may think about it, if someone sneezes, coughs, clears their throat, drops a book, or does a jillion other things, disrupts the thought processes of other students. Compare that to an online class whereby you can study in the privacy of your home in peace and quiet. Which scenario can you best learn in?
Regardless of the type class you take, the assistance of an instructor is only moments away. Therefore the real issue must be fear. That is fear of not understanding how online courses work. In a few days I will explain the exact processes of online classes and how they work. Take just a few minutes to share which type class you prefer and why.

Great question. I prefer an online setting by far, for the reasons noted in this blog post and for other reasons. You hit the nail on the head when you said that it isn’t that hard to make money in Real Estate, but today’s real estate agents have to be quite internet savvy. I took an online course to get my license because I wanted to go as fast as I wanted to, it worked. Now, being a real estate agent, I see how important it is to be very, very computer savvy. Thanks for the post.
